Simply put, the combining of log, timber and flitch-sawn elements within a design creating an extremely expressive celebration of different wood forms and textures. Designs can be simple or complex, intimate or expansive.
As a craftsman, the layout and fitting, and final structure, assembled smoothly and seamlessly is always quite satisfying. We have an affinity for the traditional Japanese carpenter, who, eschewing a strict timber bias, continued to rely on natural, often arched elements in their work through to recent times. It is a tradition, in a modern, regional sense, we at Gresham Post and Beam are proud to continue.
