Log Post and Beam

Log Post and Beam exemplifies an organic emphasis, yet technical approach to building.  It is the oldest free-standing permanent building style, originating in Neolithic times.

Our project history encompasses a true variety ranging from massive columns and beams evoking ancient Greece or First Nations longhouses, through more intimate, yet exuberant modern residences recalling the feel of the Japanese country home, arriving at the very contemporary West Coast Iconic style with a sparse, totemic use of log elements achieving an open, visually exciting spaciousness.

The historical worthiness of mortise and tenon is well known (structurally secured by traditional pegging), however we generally augment our log frames with a well developed concealed bolting system - so effective against seismic forces we find it is often the most effective method of fastening.
